Auburn quarterback believes there is a quarterback battle
All Auburn football fans are wondering who will quarterback the Auburn Tigers when they start their 2024 campaign.
Many believe incumbent Payton Thorne will win the job, but there are some players in the quarterback room who are looking to take the job from the veteran.
The young guys Hank Brown and Walker White are exciting names on the Plains, as some feel they have a shot to win this job if they play well in spring and summer. Coach Freeze said that the job is Thorne's to lose at this point, but that does not mean a player like Bown, White, or Holden Geriner couldn't make this race interesting as we get deeper into the off-season.
Brown recently joined the Locked On Auburn Podcast to talk about the spring. When asked by host Zac Blackerby if there is a quarterback battle happening this offseason Brown had this to say, "It doesn't change anything. I think there is a quarterback battle, and I think I'm going to give it my all every day. It doesn't matter what is said, what happens. I'm going to give it my all every day. My process doesn't change. I'm competing every single day I go out there. It's up to me and competing every day. "
Some Auburn fans want to see Coach Freeze have this be a young team and let either Brown or White take over at quarterback.
In the Music City Bowl, Brown took over late in the game and lit it up, passing for 132 yards while completing seven of his nine attempts.
