5 freshmen that could have a big week at spring practice

Auburn football will resume spring practice this week. Who are five freshmen that could stand out this week?

After taking last week off for spring break, the Auburn football team returns to practice this week.

Competition will be ramping up as A-Day continues to move closer and the newcomers will be looking to make a name for themselves.

Who are five freshmen that could have a big week at practice?

Cam Coleman, WR

To the surprise of no one, the top player of Auburn's 2024 recruiting class has the chance to make an immediate impact.

Coleman was the No. 5 player nationally and the No. 2 wide receiver in this year's recruiting class according to 247Sports.

Wide receiver is a position that Auburn needs to see noticeable improvement at and Coleman is capable of bringing that.

Amaris Williams, Edge

Auburn's defensive line will look different this year after Marcus Harris, Jayson Jones, Justin Rogers and Zykeious Walker all declared for the NFL Draft.

Williams, the second-highest-rated player in Auburn's 2024 recruiting class, was the No. 30 player nationally and the No. 5 edge.

Auburn's defensive line will need a new workhorse to lead the charge this season and Williams has the skill set to be that player.

Joseph Phillips, LB

Linebacker is another position that will feature new faces in 2024. Cam Riley, who was one of Auburn's lead players at the position in 2023, transferred to NC State.

Phillips, the No. 6 player in Auburn's 2024 recruiting class, will likely be one of Auburn's main players at the position along with Austin Keys.

Walker White, QB

The quarterback competition will be another major talking point of Spring Practice for Auburn.

Payton Thorne's level of play was inconsistent last season and White was one of the top quarterbacks in the 2024 recruiting class.

White has the chance to play early in his Auburn career, but that process begins now.

Bryce Cain, WR

While Coleman and Perry Thompson got a lot of the attention, Cain was another addition Auburn made to its wide receiver room who could make a difference early.

Coleman will get most of the targets, particularly during spring ball because Thompson will not arrive until the summer, but Cain is another name to look out for as A-Day approaches.

Auburn brought in a lot of talent in this freshman class. This group could represent a turning point in Auburn getting back on track.
