LOOK: Auburn legend Frank Thomas responds to Fox News for thinking he was dead

Frank Thomas, a.k.a "The Big Hurt" is alive and well.

Apparently, Fox News posted a tribute to Frank Thomas to acknowledge his incorrect passing.

Thomas went to social media to let people know that he was okay. In a post on X, Thomas said, "Ladies and Gentlemen I’m very sorry my ex employer Fox would be this irresponsible on National TV this morning. Yes I’m alive and doing well. This blows my mind also."

Thomas added a photo of himself smiling in the car.

Fox was right that a former MLB player named Frank Thomas passed. Thomas played in the 50s and 60s. He passed away at the age of 93.

UPDATE: Fox News issued a response apologizing and correcting their statement.

Thomas was recognized in April of this year as Auburn's SEC Baseball Legend. Auburn baseball also honored the MLB Hall of Famer with a statue outside of Plainsman Park.

"To see that statue, it really brought a tear to my eye because it is perfect," Thomas told reporters shortly after the unveiling. "Absolutely perfect. They nailed it. And it looks like me in college, not in the pros."

Thomas played baseball for Auburn in 1987 and 1989.

Auburn baseball will start the 2024 season on February 16th hosting Eastern Kentucky for a three-game series. Butch Thompson and the Tigers will start their quest for the chance to host another regional at Plainsman Park.
