Baylor's Sochan Gets Green Room Invite

Bears forward set to attend NBA Draft with family on June 23

It would only be fitting if Baylor Bears forward Jeremy Sochan dons green hair at the upcoming NBA Draft later this month.

A Baylor standout and a key member of the team's success in 2021, Sochan received an official green room invite to the 2022 NBA Draft on Monday.

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew was one of the first to congratulate Sochan.

"Congrats and well deserved!" Drew tweeted on Monday afternoon. "Good luck @SochanJeremy!"

Sochan was also quick to jump on Twitter to announce his excitement.

Thus far, Sochan is one of 16 confirmed players to receive an official green room invite to the NBA Draft.

Sochan, 19, is a 6-9, 230-pound Polish-American wing who rose to further fame after his one and only season in Waco, Texas.

The majority of Sochan's childhood was spent in Milton Keynes, England. He represented Poland as part of the under-16 national basketball team and was awarded the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship Division B MVP.

Beyond being a fan favorite at the Ferrell Center and in the community, Sochan averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game for the Bears as a freshman.

He also earned Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year honors and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

Sochan declared for the NBA Draft on April 15, and since that time his stock has only risen as many mock drafts have him projected as a top 15 pick.
