Hometown: Sumter, S.C. / Sumter

Class: Freshman

Height: 6’7’’

Weight: 230

Ranked a 3* (according to Rivals) as a high school prospect, CJ Felder brings a lot of talent and excitement to the Boston College basketball program. Felder committed to the Eagles in 2018, choosing the school over claimed offers from Clemson, Virginia Tech, Marquette, Mississippi State, Auburn and many others. To many recruiting analysts he is considered the most complete player in this upcoming group of Boston College freshmen.

Before enrolling at Boston College, Felder was named to the USA Today/American Family Insurance All-State second team as a junior and a 5A All-State selection from the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association. The next year, CJ Felder was nominated for the 2019 McDonald's All-American game and ranked 50th best power forward nationally by 247Sports Composite.(BCeagles.com)

Felder’s ability to explode to the basket and finish is something Boston College sorely needed after the departure of Ky Bowman.  Because of his versatility he will force defenses to focus on him, and in result will open up the floor for the rest of the team which is something that will help BC tremendously this season.

CJ Felder's playing style is very aggressive, attacking, and gritty, something that could immediately help the Eagles . From the film we have seen the 6’7’’ forward looks like he could be good at drawing fouls when driving to the basket. Felder’s also very seems to have solid post moves which Boston College sorely needs and would be a nice compliment to Nik Popovic and Steff Mitchell. The freshmen will also be one of Boston College’s biggest threats in the fast break with his height and explosiveness.

Although the dominant freshman is a very strong offensive player, his defense may be even stronger. Before his injury last year, he averaged 5 blocked shots a game for Sumter High School. Adding Felder to the lineup will help a Boston College team that finished 174th in the country in blocked shots last year.

“CJ Felder is so physically gifted.” Head Coach Jim Christian told BCeagles.com last year, “He may be one of the most physically gifted guys I've ever been around. He’s such a competitor, he’s athletic, [and] he’s skilled“
