Boston College lost their third player this offseason to transfer as Texas offensive lineman Thomas Shelmire announced on Twitter that he will be moving closer to home and transferring to SMU

Shelmire, a 3* 2018 commit, chose Boston College over claimed offers from Colorado State, Navy, Fordham and Army. Recently his name had shown up on the 247 transfer portal, so this news isn't anything earth shattering. He redshirted last season, so he will have 4 years of eligibility left when he enters SMU.

Importantly for the Eagles, they now get another scholarship slot back to build up on this year's class.
