Yesterday, Sports Illustrated's All American released their top 1000 recruits for their 2020 watchlist. On that list were ten Boston College commits, and a handful of targets for the Eagles. Additionally, the SI All American staff broke down the commits by state.

Today let's take a look at what Boston College recruiting area is the most fertile in this class. For the sake of this discussion we are going to look at Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC, Illinois, and Georgia. While BC has offers and commits in other states, these seems to be the states with the heaviest focus.

Massachusetts: 9 SI All Americans : Currently Michigan is the leader in commitments with three, Boston College has one (Owen McGowan). The Eagles are still in on Drew Kendall who is currently uncommitted, and wouldn't be surprised if they continue to pursue TJ Guy.

Connecticut: 5 SI All AmericansUnlike most previous years, the Eagles currently do not have a commitment from the state of Connecticut. They were in on Jeffrey Davis Jr., before he committed to Penn State. Michigan has two commitments in the state.

New Jersey: 18 SI All Americans: The Eagles have two listed from New Jersey (Jalen Cheek and Donovan Ezeiruaku). Clearly this is a talent rich state with lots of Power 5 level talent, and has been a heavy focus for the staff going into this cycle.

New York: 3 SI All Americans. Boston College does not have any commitments on this list, the three are committed to Syracuse, Purdue and Texas A&M.

Rhode Island: 1 SI All American. Jason Onye is the lone representative and he is committed to Notre Dame.

Ohio: 37 SI All AmericansAnother talent rich recruiting ground, Shawn Gates is the lone Boston College representative from the state.

Washington DC: 8 SI All Americans. Andre Porter is Boston College's lone representative to the group. Colin Heinrich is also on the list and a name BC has been linked to.

Maryland: 28 SI All AmericansThe Eagles have Jalen McCain in the state that has the tenth most honorees in the country.

Virginia: 32 SI All Americans. Quarterback Emmett Morehead highlights the state that has become a new renewed hunting ground for the Eagles. Per SI All American director John Garcia "In all, nearly 70 players from the area are SI All-American candidates. It features elite prospects and major volume. The DMV is now a must-recruit area for playoff-caliber college programs."

Georgia: 84 SI All AmericansTrevin Wallace and Neto Okpala highlight BC's bounty in a state that had the third most recruits on the list behind Florida (142) and Texas (129).

Illinois: 23 SI All Americans. Offensive lineman Otto Hess is the headline from this state where Boston College has been active, especially in Chicago. Was a bit surprised that Dante Reynolds and Lewis Bond did not make the list.
