KenPom Predicts BYU Basketball vs UCF in Big 12 Tournament

The Cougars take on the on the Knights in the second round of the Big 12 tournament

The Big 12 tournament is officially underway. On Tuesday morning, UCF beat Oklahoma State in the first round. With the win, UCF will play BYU on Wednesday morning. The winner of BYU-UCF will advance to the quarterfinals where 4-seed Texas Texas awaits the winner.

KenPom, the industry leader in college basketball analytics, predicted BYU-UCF. KenPom gives BYU a 69% chance to win with a projected final score of 76-70 in favor of the Cougars.

As of this writing, BYU is ranked 16th in KenPom while UCF is ranked 57th.

Third Matchup Between BYU and UCF

This will be the third matchup between BYU and UCF this season. A road win at UCF was BYU's first win in conference play. After an 0-2 start, BYU traveled to Orlando and took down UCF in a low-scoring game.

On February 13th, BYU hosted UCF in Provo. The Cougars had control of the game throughout the second half until UCF when on a wild scoring surge to close out the game. BYU held on to win 90-88.
