Amaya Bonner, who entered the transfer portal soon after completing her freshman season at Cal, has joined the Florida State women's basketball program.

“Amaya Bonner is an exciting addition to our Seminole Family,” Florida State coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “She is a skilled guard who brings size, athleticism and scoring ability to our roster. We are looking forward to the impact she will have this season as well as her development and growth in the years to come.”

The 6-foot Bonner played in 21 games for the Bears this past season as a freshman and averaged 6.6 minutes, 0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds while missing all seven of her three-point attempts.

Cal finished with a 13-17 record in 2022-23 and missed the NCAA tournament for the fourth straight year.  Florida State finished 23-10 this past season and played in the NCAA tournament for the 10th consecutive season.

Bonner was a Top-100 prospect at Oakland's Bishop O’Dowd High School, averaging 20.0 points per game and 10 rebounds per game as a senior in the 2021-22 season.

ESPNU ranked Bonner as the 51st-best prospect in the 2022 signing class,, and she was named to the SportsStars Magazine Bay Area Top 75.
