Aaron Rodgers is showing off is golf skills once again in a celebrity event in Lake Tahoe this weekend. He is also showing off his ability to produce distinctive autographs, as seen here:

As he gets ready for his first training camp with the New York Jets – and the Hard Knocks intrusion that goes with it – former Cal quarterback Rodgers is playing in the American Century Championship. And though he could not keep up with Steph Curry, Rodgers produced best first round on Friday of any of the current NFL players participating in the event.

Rodgers carded a 6-over-par 78 on Friday on the opening day. Rodgers totaled 13 points in the tournament's scoring system to tie for 23rd on the overall player leaderboard heading into Saturday of this celebrity event, which features a $600,000 prize purse and raises money for charitable causes.

You will notice we said Rodgers is ahead of all “current” NFL players, because former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo tallied 16 points to put him in a tie for 13th place. Curry led the field after totaling 27 points on Day 1 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shot 17 over par and was outside of the top 50 following the first day of the three-day, 54-hole competition. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen scored seven points and is in 40th place.

Rodgers birdied the first hole on Friday, but he had seven bogeys on the day. He finished with pars on the final two holes.

Actor Miles Teller is also participating in this charity event, and his friendship with Rodgers became public knowledge when Teller and Rodgers attended a Taylor Swift concert together a few weeks ago.

Rodgers will presumably be the focus of the HBO documentary series Hard Knocks, which will have cameras inside the Jets headquarters to follow every move during the Jets training camp, which begins July 20. (The Hard Knocks series is likely to start airing in August.)

"I understand the appeal with us,” Rodgers said a few days ago. “There’s a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, a lot of expectations for our squad. They forced it down our throats and we’ve got to deal with it.”

Earlier in the week, Rodgers also had a conversation with Ray Romano, the Everybody Loves Raymond star who is a big Jets fan. Romano introduced himself and his sons to the 38-year-old, four-time MVP quarterback.
