FINAL SCORE: No. 13 OREGON 17, CAL 7. The Bears held an opponent to fewer than 25 points for the 13th consecutive game, but were scoreless with just 93 total yards in the second half and Oregon ground out the victory. Cal (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) gets a weekend off. Oregon (4-1, 2-0) beat the Bears for the 10th time in 11 tries.

*** PK Greg Thomas, who had made 8 of 9 FGs entering this game, misses again, this time from 46 yards with 2:59 left. Oregon in charge at 17-7.

*** The one may be over. Justin Herbert throws a 1-yard TD pass to Jaylon Redd for a 17-7 lead with 7:14 left. Herbert has throws a TD pass in 33 consecutive games, the longest streak in the nation.

*** A costly turnover by the Bears. Modster's pass is deflected and intercepted by LB Troy Dye. After post-play penalties on both teams, Oregon has possession at the Cal 49 with a 10-7 lead and 9:20 left to play.  

*** Leaping catch by Jordan Duncan gives Cal its first 1st down of the second half.

*** Boy, is CB Cam Bynum playing a terrific game for Cal. He's giving up nothing. Cal takes over on downs after stopping Oregon on 4th-and-2 from the 28. An INC pass to Bynum's man.

*** END OF THE THIRD QUARTER: Oregon 10, Cal 7. Cal's offense has skidded to a complete halt. The Bears had four yards and no first downs in the third quarter. The Ducks have 2nd-and-5 at their own 46 as the 4th quarter begins.

*** Bay Area native Cyrus Habibi Likio scores from the 1-yard line for Oregon, which takes a 10-7 lead at 1:38 of the 3rd Q. The big play after the punt return, a 29-yard completion from Justin Herbert to TE Jacob Breeland to the 1-yard line. Oregon 10-7. Can the Cal offense -- with six 3-and-outs -- answer?

**** Huge chance for the Ducks after a 24-yard punt return by Jevon Holland to the Cal 30. 

*** Oregon finally on the scoreboard after a 28-yard FG by Camden Lewis, who had missed his first three tries this season. Cal stiffened in the red-zone after the Ducks had a first down at the 13. Cam Goode with a big first-down TFL of 1 yard. Bears lead 7-3 with 7:32 left in the 3Q.

*** Another injury to the Cal O-line: Valentino Daltoso, who started tonight at OT then moved to OG, comes off. Poutasi Poutasi now in. Modster throws INC on third down and Cal will punt.

*** Oregon shut out at halftime at home for the first time since 2004.

*** HALFTIME: Cal 7, Oregon 0. The numbers -- Cal has 167 yards, including 7-for-15 for 118 yards and 1 TD and a harmless INT on the final play of the half. Oregon has 215 yards (105 rushing, 110 passing) but has three turnovers, including one that led to the game's only points. First downs: Oregon 14, Cal 7.

*** Cal drives to the Oregon 35 before Modster hit and fumbles. Freshman McKade Mettauer recovers. With 2 seconds left in the half, Modster heaves a fourth-down pass that is intercepted by Oregon's Jevon Holland. He makes a 40-yard return but is forced out at the 50 with the clock a 0:00. Halftime: Cal 7, Oregon 0.

*** Oregon drives to the Cal 27 before Camden Lewis misses a 45-yard FG try. He is 0-for-3 on FGs this season. Cal retains 7-0 lead with 4:15 left in the 2nd Q.

*** Cal defense holds -- Oregon punts for the first time. First three possessions ended with turnovers. Bears take over at their own 26 with 8:26 left in the 2nd Q.

*** Big blown chance for Cal. Modster comes up 2 yards short on third-down scramble before Greg Thomas misses a 32-yard FG, wide to the left with 10:17 left in the 2nd Q. Cal still leads 7-0.

*** Devon Modster takes a big hit as he delivers a 24-yard completion to TE Jake Tonges, who makes a great catch for a 1st down at the Oregon 38. Modster then hit Trevon Clark for 15 yards to the Oregon 23.

*** A third Oregon turnover. Trey Turner knocks the ball loose from Travis Dye and Lone Toailoa recovers for the Bears at the Cal 38 with 12:57 left on the 2nd Q. 

Injury update: C Michael Saffell reportedly has lower right leg injury. Now at C is Matthew Cindric.

*** END OF FIRST QUARTER: Cal 7, Oregon 0. Oregon has 126 yards to 76 for the Bears, but two turnovers are the difference.

*** Cal defense squeezes a 2nd turnover out of the Ducks. Travis Dye coughs up a fumble on fourth-and-1 from the 11 and Kuony Deng recovers for the Bears with 26 seconds left in the 1st Q. Cal takes over at its own 9-yard line.

*** Oregon running back CJ Verdell, who already has 46 rushing yards is holding his right ankle and remains on the ground. Appears to be in great discomfort with 2:16 left in the 1st Q. He finally limps off.

*** Cal defense not stopping the run at all so far as the Ducks drive into Cal territory. Oregon has 14 rushes for 87 yards -- 6.2 per attempt.

*** Touchdown Bears: Devon Modster throws 22-yard TD pass to Christopher Brown. The first first-half touchdown the Ducks have allowed all season. Cal leads 7-0 at 6:58 of the 1st Q. Touchdown set up by Ashtyn Davis' INT and 31-yard return.

*** Center Michael Saffell limps off with an injury.

*** We got bad info early: Jordan Duncan (who just caught a 36-yard pass) is playing. 

*** Oregon drove to the Cal 16 before a penalty knocked the Ducks back to the 25 for a second-and-19 play. Safety Ashtyn Davis then  got an interception -- the first Herbert has thrown this season -- and returned it 31 yards to the Cal 37 at 9:07 of the 1st Q.

*** Cal punts after Christopher Brown Jr. is stuffed on third-and-1. The ball rolls to the Oregon 21. A 52-yard punt by Stephen Coutts. 

*** Oregon won the toss and deferred. Cal received the opening kickoff. Here comes new starting QB Devon Modster.

*** Cal (4-1 1-1 Pac-12) tries to get back in the victory column this evening against No. 13 Oregon (3-1, 1-0) in a 5 p.m. kickoff at Autzen Stadium.

The Bears have dropped nine of their past 10 meetings vs. the Ducks, who feature a powerhouse offense led by All-America quarterback Justin Herbert and a defense that has not allowed a touchdown in the past three games.
