New Mexico State WR Transfer Jonathan Brady Commits to Cal

New Mexico State wide receiver Jonathan Brady, who was the Aggies leading receiver this past season as a sophomore, announced on social media that he has committed to Cal.

Brady is the second wide receiver transfer who has committed to Cal this week. Former Utah receiver Mikey Matthews committed to Cal on Monday

Brady had 39 catches for 621 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games in 2023 for New Mexico State. Brady also had nine rushes for 39 yards and a touchdown that season.

The Aggies finished with a 10-5 record, including 7-1 in Conference-USA. They lost to Liberty 49-35 in the C-USA title game, and Brady had four catches for 95 yards and one touchdown in that game. His 74-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Diego Pavia in the third quarter brought New Mexico within 35-28.

New Mexico State lost to Fresno State 37-10 in the New Mexico Bowl, and Brady had only two receptions for 8 yards in that contest.

Brady had more than 100 yards receiving twice in 2023, recording 102 receiving yards against Western Illinois and 109 against New Mexico.

In 2022 as a freshman, Brady had 23 receptions for 310 yards and three touchdowns. In his final three games that season, Brady had 12 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns. He carries the ball 10 times that season for 101 rushing yards

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Brady is from Las Vegas and attended Bishop Gorman High school. He was a two-star recruit in high school and received an offer from Eastern Washington as well as New Mexico State.
