Elliott: 'We're going to be aggressive'

"We're going to be aggressive. And we know that teams are going to sit back and play some covers and challenges to run the ball. So we've got to do a good job of running the ball and then we've got to force the ball down the field."

When you look at some of these slow starts on offense, is there anything in particular you could tribute that to?

"You know, for us, we were moving the ball, then we missed the field goal there early on. And then we have a couple of interceptions. So for today in particular, it was more just mistakes on our part, and someone is down. And then last week, we got off to a very, very fast start. So I think the guys were really, really buying into what it takes, the mindset that you got to have right out the gate. So I think we're improving the air. And really every game is a game in itself and things are a little bit different."

Was this kind of what you were talking about this past week when you said you wanted to be more intentional with Travis and force the issue?

"You know, there was still a mixture of some RPO's in there. And then I thought Trevor did a good job of managing it too. They probably gave us some looks where he could have threw it, but he understood that, and we want to really, really establish the line of scrimmage. We felt like just with the performance last week we were coming off, got a lot of confidence in the offensive line. We felt like the size advantage was in our favor, that we really wanted to force the ball in the running game. But at the same time too, protect running game by being able to throw all out.

"So we had a good mixture of RPO, but then we also had some good mixtures of just, "Hey, let's just force the ball to Travis." And then he got hot and then the offensive line was creating the new line of scrimmage. So that just fed into... Fit into a mold.
