Observations of the offense

During the Tigers "Tempo" session the Tigers' first team offense:

QB: Trevor Lawrence

WRs: Higgins, Overton, Ross and Powell (when in four-wide sets)

TE: Jaelyn Lay- a bit of a surprise, but Lay was getting extended reps with the first teams as well as the second team

Dabo Swinney returned to his former duties as wide receiver's coach, as he drilled the wide receivers on how to catch the ball on the sidelines and the end zone. He could be heard across the field screaming at the receivers, "Extend and drag!" and "Run through the ball"

Both of the Herbstreit boys, Tye and Jake, as well as Drew Swinney caught the ire of Swinney as he had them repeat the drill numerous times because they either did not run through the ball or switched hands with the ball—allowing a DB to make a play.

Travis Etienne has received a lot of the national attention, but Lyn-J Dixon appears to have found another level of work ethic this summer. Also, the additional weight (190 pounds) appears to be very good for Dixon, and has not slowed him down at all.

Defensive Observations:

Jordan Williams appears to have bought into the leadership role, as he screamed at the D-line to, "Wake the F--k up" after Todd Bates saw enough and made the entire group do up downs

Defensive coordinator had his linebackers working on getting off blocks and was not pleased at all with the way they were working, telling them at one point, "If you can't do it right then get your ass off the field and I will find someone who will!"
