Lawrence’s Health is Not in Question

Anytime a player struggle in any form or fashion, the rumor mills start.
Is he hurt? He is hurt. The injury is going to need season-ending surgery — are just a few of the rumors that have been whispered by fans and media alike when discussing what is wrong with Clemson starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
However, when asked about the health of Lawrence, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was having none of the idea that he was playing injured and that was a result of his "sophomore slump."
"Yes, it's football. It's not two end touch, you're going to get hit," Swinney said. "He's great. He didn't get touched last week. He didn't even break a sweat. Nobody touched him. I only think he got a grass stain on him. So yeah, he's in great shape. But he took a few licks tonight, but that's just the way it is. We ain't in a bubble. We got to do a better job."
After reviewing the game tape, Swinney believes that he what he saw was not a quarterback that struggled. Instead, he saw a quarterback that carried his team.
"I managed to watch the tape, because there was a few protection breakdowns that got us," Swinney said. "And he did a good job on a couple of them, getting rid of the ball. Bailed us out a little bit where they kind of had us in the sack situation, but he was able to get rid of it. Made a great scramble over to the left, and we hit, I guess that was Tee (Higgins) on the sideline, and then we ended up scoring on the quarterback counter there.
"But he made some great plays. He made some great plays. And again, missed a couple, but we're just going to keep getting better. When you got the type of guys that we have, like I said, that really care, and are really committed, you're going to get better."
Event though Swinney found a positive in the play and health of Lawrence, Monday was a difficult day for the Tigers because they had to take a long look in the mirror.
"And we've got an awesome group of coaches, but today was a tough day," Swinney said. "Today was a tough day at the office. No doubt. Fortunate to win. Very, very blessed to be able to win this game. No doubt. We'll take it. Move on. Onward"
