Former Clemson defensive back Trayvon Mullen was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 40th pick of the second round in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With the selection of Mullen, the Tigers finished the first two rounds of the draft with four selections--which tied the previous school-record of four selections in 2016 when Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, Mackenzie Alexander and T.J. Green were selected.

Mullen declared for the NFL Draft following a three-year Tiger career in which he posted 94 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback pressures, four interceptions, a forced fumble and 12 pass breakups in 1474 snaps over 41 games (26 starts) in his career. Mullen was a second-team AFCA All-American in 2018 who earned College Football Playoff National Championship Defensive MVP honors in the final game of his career.

According to the NFL, Mullen is a, "Long press-corner who can clog up the release but is more reactive than instinctive in coverage. Mullen can be a little inconsistent in anticipating route breaks, which can open small throwing windows, but his loose hips and response burst helps him latch back onto tight coverage. If Mullen can improve pattern recognition and reading the quarterback, the ball production should follow."
