Colorado's Tar'Varish Dawson enters transfer portal

Tar'Varish Dawson officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday. The former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver was dismissed from the program after dealing with a personal matter back in February.
Dawson, an original four-star recruit from Fort Myers, Florida, was part of Coach Prime's original transfer portal class last year. He was a top 50 recruit at Lehigh Senior before falling out of favor at Auburn. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder appeared in seven games for the Buffs with four starts due to Travis Hunter being sidelined with a lacerated liver. He recorded 14 receptions for 124 receiving yards and a touchdown, to go along with one carry for eight yards and one touchdown on the ground.
"I'm disappointed that I'm no longer with my teammates at Colorado," Dawson told BuffsBeat after being dismissed. "It's an unfortunate situation, but I'm excited for my future and being able to take my talents elsewhere. I'm thankful for the opportunity Coach Prime and his staff gave me in Boulder. I'm just a kid from Fort Myers like he was and it means a lot. With that said, I'm ready to work."
Dawson will likely take his talents closer to home in the Sunshine State. One of the perfect landing spots for him might be UCF with Guz Malzhan and his staff. The Knights coach recruited Dawson at Auburn, but never got to coach him because he was fired during the transition period. If that does become the case, Dawson will face the Buffs in Orlando on Sept. 28.
The Buffs have currently lost nine players to the portal before the Black and Gold Spring Game on April 27.
