That number has now become four, as the Blue Devils have lost another player to the transfer portal with the decision from sophomore guard Jaden Schutt.
His decision to enter his name into the portal was first reported early Monday evening by On3’s Joe Tipton.

Schutt was a member of Jon Scheyer’s inaugural recruiting class, a former four-star recruit from Illinois who was highly touted for his shooting prowess. After playing sparingly in his first season, he then missed the entirety of his sophomore year after suffering a foot injury during the offseason.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in his freshman year, appearing in just 14 games while playing just under seven minutes a game.
His best performance as a Blue Devil came in a victory over Maryland Eastern Shore back in December 2022. Schutt finished with nine points, five rebounds, and an assist in that contest while shooting a perfect 3-for-3 beyond the arc.
Due to his injury, Schutt redshirted this past season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Jaden Schutt’s departure marks the sixth Duke basketball player to depart this offseason. Reeves, Mitchell, and Blakes are in the portal alongside Schutt. Meanwhile, both Kyle Filipowski and Jared McCain declared for the NBA Draft.
The Blue Devils now have two open scholarships heading into next season, three is Jeremy Roach decides not to use his fifth year of eligibility in Durham.
