Cutcliffe: "Not gonna be a lot of secrets in Blacksburg Friday night.”

In the conclusion to his conversation with the media during the bye week, David Cutcliffe dropped his Coach Cut-icism of the week.
With defensive coaches now having three games worth of tape on the freshmen receivers and the Harris-led offense, does he need to start playing chess, to avoid opponents from scheming to stop them.
“This is the twelfth time we’ve played (Virginia Tech defensive coordinator) Bud Foster,” he said. “He’s seen everything we do. I’ve seen everything he does. You’ve got to put players in position to execute.”
Then he added, “Not gonna be a lot of secrets in Blacksburg, Friday night.”
Cutcliffe also continued talking about Aaron Young’s personal battle with injuries at Duke. He missed much of last year with a nagging hamstring injury but appears fully healthy now. Cutcliffe wasn’t as focused on the injury as the source of the change in Young, however.
“It’s probably less about the hamstring and more about a lot of the emotions that go through young people’s minds,” he said.
Cutcliffe talked about the young offensive line, praising the freshmen, Casey Holman and Jacob Monk who have “improved since day one.” He also praised Zach Baker, who is “relatively new as a starter” and Jack Wohlabaugh, who is “still a relatively young guy in our program.”
Junior Rakavius Chambers is the senior member. “Rak has been the steady rock,” he said.
He also praised Robert Kraeling, who is earning playing time after losign his starting job.
“He has no choice,” Cutcliffe said. “He has to compete and be consistent.”
