Linebacker Koby Quansah will be one of the leaders on Duke football’s defense when the Blue Devils face Pitt Saturday night in an ACC Coastal Division showdown that will be televised on the ACC Network. Duke is 3-1, 1-0 in the league. Pitt is 3-2, 0-1 in the league.

The defense has showed improvement this year, which Quansah credits to hard work.

“We kind of put onus on us during the last year,” he said. “We knew there were certain games we could have won. We just didn’t do everything we can to our abilities. So from spring ball to summer workouts we knew what we could do on the defensive side of the ball to get better, have more effort, get our conditioning in better shape, kind of hone in on what we can improve.”

Pitt has been successful the last few years against the Blue Devils.

“The main this is stop the run first and foremost,” Quansah said. “I know last year they put up a lot of numbers on the ground. Our main goal now is eliminating the run. The rest will take care of itself. Being there for our assignments and the rest will come.”

This is the second game in a row against a Coastal foe that beat Duke last year.

“We just kind of have a little revenge tour,” Quansah said. “Every team is circled in our mind. Virginia Tech last week, we came in with the mindset that we’ve come here to win. We got that done, not it’s the same thing against Pitt."
