Pitt game day: Quentin Harris wants to put up as many points as possible "just like every week"

Duke QB doesn't worry about history of shootouts

Quarterback Quentin Harris will lead Duke football’s offense when the Blue Devils face Pitt Saturday night in an ACC Coastal Division showdown that will be televised on the ACC Network. Duke is 3-1, 1-0 in the league. Pitt is 3-2, 0-1 in the league.

“They’re definitely been a very talented group. We’ve had a lot of high-scoring games that we haven’t come out on the right side of,” Harris said. “It’s been a great game for us the last few years. Even since I’ve been here we’ve been in some shootouts the last couple years. We’re looking forward to righting that this week. Hopefully we’ll come out on the right side this time.”

Harris doesn’t feel pressure to score early and often, in anticipation of a showdown with the Panthers. “Not necessarily,” he said. “We just know we’re going to have to score as many points as we can. That’s the goal each and every week. We know with such a talented opponent, we’re going to have to put up as many points as possible.”

Saturday night is Durham Night, celebrating Duke’s home city and community. Residents will be able to get in on discounted tickets.

“It’s been great,” he said. “They’ve had a couple different slogans since I’ve been here but I think the Bull City has really caught on and the little hand signal as well (making bull horns with your fists together). That seems to be a pretty unifying thing for us. It’s great to have the support of Durham and honor Durham for our game as well.
