Duke Basketball Product in Running for Upgraded NBA Job

In this story:
As it stands, Trajan Langdon's career trajectory in NBA front offices has already been exceptional. But the former Duke basketball sharpshooter, known as the "Alaskan Assassin" during his five years (1994-99) with the Blue Devils, could soon see another elevation in his job title.
Langdon landed his current job as the New Orleans Pelicans' general manager in 2019 following three years as an assistant general manager for the Brooklyn Nets. Before Brooklyn, he spent a year as the director of player administration for the Cleveland Cavaliers, a rise from his three years as a San Antonio Spurs scout.
Now, the 47-year-old appears to be a prime candidate for the Washington Wizards' head of basketball operations, the position that Tommy Sheppard held from 2019 until the franchise fired him in April this year.
According to a tweet from The Athletic's Josh Robbins on Tuesday night, the Wizards have conducted a formal interview with Langdon. And Langdon is the first reported interviewee for the opening.
So perhaps he is their top option.
As a Duke basketball guard, Trajan Langdon came up only 26 points shy of joining the 2,000-point club while shooting 42.6 percent beyond the arc and 86.2 percent from the charity stripe for his college career. He was a three-time First Team All-ACC honoree and helped lead the 1998-99 Blue Devils to a 37-2 overall record.

Then Langdon heard his name at No. 11 overall at the 1999 NBA Draft. Following three seasons in the league, all with the Cavaliers, he enjoyed a celebrated nine-year career overseas.
