Duke Basketball Enters Battle for Another Premier Point Guard

Duke basketball now has offers out to three heralded 2025 backcourt talents.

Some categorize Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Calif.) rising junior Brayden Burries as a shooting guard. Others see him as a combo guard. But he lists himself as a pure point guard on social media. Either way, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound versatile four-star is now the third 2025 Duke basketball target capable of being a full-time floor general.

And that's not counting do-anything phenom Cooper Flagg.

Burries, who ranks No. 28 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, announced his offer from the Blue Devils via the following tweet late Wednesday night, roughly four hours after revealing his offer from Arizona:

He now boasts over a dozen offers, including a couple more from blueblood programs in Kansas and UCLA.

At this relatively early juncture on the 2025 trail, it's no surprise the polished playmaker has neither scheduled official visits nor named finalists. And no insiders at primary recruiting sites have predicted his landing spot.

With his crisp moves, smooth stroke from deep, and top-shelf athleticism, which were on full display for the Blue Devil staff at Peach Jam earlier this month and at the Las Vegas Big Time Tournament this past weekend, Brayden Burries will likely see several more high-profile suitors enter the mix.

The other two guards on Duke basketball's 2025 wishlist are Christopher Columbus High School (Fla.) five-star Cayden Boozer, twin brother to top-ranked Cameron Boozer and son of Blue Devil legend Carlos Boozer, and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School (Pa.) five-star Meleek Thomas.

Boozer ranks No. 20 in the class. As for Thomas, he sits at No. 6 overall, No. 1 among point guards.
