Duke Basketball Recruiting: Blue Devils Zoom In on Top Point Guard

In this story:
In the eyes of 247Sports, Curtis Senior (Wash.) junior Zoom Diallo is the top point guard in the 2024 class. Sure, others aren't quite that high on him yet. Nevertheless, he's skyrocketed 69 spots in the past few months to No. 19 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite and is now popping up on the Duke basketball recruiting radar.

"[Duke assistant coach Jai] Lucas contacted me and instilled in me that they really like my playing style," the 6-foot-4, 190-pound electric five-star informed 247Sports' Eric Bossi this week. "And they said that they are really looking for a point guard in that 2024 class."
That 2024 Duke basketball recruiting class consists of only one pledge thus far: Paul VI Catholic (Va.) four-star small forward Darren Harris, a heralded sharpshooter with a No. 51 composite ranking.
No full-fledged point guards are on the Blue Devils' offer sheet. However, one of their prime remaining targets is Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) combo guard Dylan Harper, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound crafty lefty with handles and vision of floor-general quality.

Meanwhile, Zoom Diallo, a noticeably confident ball-handler and bucket-getter fresh off leading his school to its second straight state championship, told Bossi he no longer feels rushed to choose a college.

Considering the recent spike in his stock, waiting until a few more powerhouses inevitably enter the mix might make the most sense. He holds over a dozen offers and has taken official visits to Gonzaga, Arizona, and Florida State.
