Duke basketball: Electric recruit seeks offer from 'dream school'

In this story:
Combine Academy (N.C.) small forward Rakease Passmore popped up on the Duke basketball recruiting radar months ago. But the 6-foot-5, 180-pound four-star, a long-time fan of the Blue Devils who has a reported 46-inch vertical leap and ranks No. 50 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite, still hasn't received an offer out of Durham.
There's no doubt he wants one. Passmore has already taken an unofficial visit to Duke, attending the Blue Devils' 77-69 win over Pitt in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Jan. 11 and joining the Cameron Crazies down the stretch after they chanted his name.
He's referred to Duke as his "dream school" in countless interviews. And he did so again in his recent chat with Rivals' Travis Graf, suggesting that an offer from the Blue Devils would be a dream come true.
"It was great," Passmore told Graf about his Duke visit. "It was a great atmosphere. It's my dream school, so it was cool to see that. They haven't offered yet, but I hope they do."
Currently, Rakease Passmore holds about two dozen offers. The aggressive playmaker implied to Graf that Auburn, Indiana, Kansas, and Wake Forest stand out among the schools he's focused on at the moment.

Meanwhile, first-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff have landed only one 2024 prize: Paul VI Catholic (Va.) four-star small forward Darren Harris, a premier sharpshooter who ranks three spots below Rakease Passmore at No. 53 in the class.
