Must-Get Duke Basketball Recruit Skies High in Front of Blue Devils

Duke basketball target Flory Bidunga's No. 4 ranking may prove several spots too low.

In the few weeks since checking out the Blue Devils in person on an official visit and landing a Duke basketball offer, Kokomo High School (Ind.) rising senior Flory Bidunga has attracted loads of attention from Jon Scheyer and his staff.

Given the relatively late offer and the coveted five-star center's plan to announce his decision by early August, Duke's full-throttle pursuit makes sense.

Most recently, the Blue Devils made their presence known by showing up for the bulk of his outings at the Adidas 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, S.C., concluding on Sunday afternoon with Bidunga leading Indiana Elite to a 73-72 triumph over Mass Rivals in the U17 fifth-place game.

With Scheyer in attendance, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound powerful force of nature delivered a game-high 30 points. And he drew lofty praise from countless onlookers, including in the following tweet from Stadium's Jeff Goodman:

On Saturday evening, the Congo native, who has been playing basketball for only a few years but already ranks No. 4 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite, highlighted his team's 70-42 blowout win against Southern Assault by getting his head to the rim for an alley-oop flush.

According to On3's Jamie Shaw, Duke basketball coaches were also on hand for that game, presumably witnessing the athletically inclined prospect's rim-rocking one-handed dunk (the second of the five Bidunga highlights in the tweeted video below). It's all undeniably impressive for a guy his size:

Flory Bidunga is one of a handful of 2024 talents the Blue Devils are actively recruiting in hopes of adding to their two-deep collection of heralded commits thus far in North Meck (N.C.) five-star small forward Isaiah Evans and Paul VI Catholic (Va.) four-star small forward Darren Harris.
