Gators point guard transfer target Zyon Pullin is planning to visit the University of Florida Saturday, multiple sources tell All Gators

UF receives the first documented visit from Pullin this spring over other members of his recently released top five. Gonzaga, LSU, Michigan and Xavier comprise the remainder of the list.

The former UC Riverside standout is just two days removed from his withdrawal from the 2023 NBA Draft pool, moving his focus solely on which school will earn his services in his fifth and final year of collegiate eligibility.

Todd Golden and Co. will get the first crack at luring Pullin into a commitment. The Florida staff vies to secure the uber-talented one-guard to serve in tandem with Walter Clayton Jr. in the backcourt next season.

Averaging 18.3 points on 48.6% from the floor and 39.4% from three, 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game as a senior, Pullin displays the skillset needed to drastically elevate the Gators' offense alongside Clayton and star player Riley Kugel after a rocky year one under the program's new leadership.

As a dynamic three-level scorer with the court vision and ball-handling prowess to carve his way to the basket or set up plays for teammates, the Pleasant Hill (Calif.) native is perfectly capable of assuming the reins of the starting point guard position next season.

Standing at 6-foot-4, Pullin imposes impressive size to combat SEC-caliber backcourt talent, a welcomed attribute for the defensive-oriented head coach in Golden.

The Gators have found success in their pursuit of transfer talent this offseason, bringing in the likes of Clayton (Iona), EJ Jarvis (Yale), Micah Handlogten (Marshall) and Tyrese Samuel (Seton Hall). Kansas State commitment Tylor Perry (North Texas) is the only player they've heavily targeted that ended up elsewhere.

Honing in their efforts on portal pieces they believe can contribute immediately — to ensure they fill the three remaining scholarship openings wisely after losing several 2022 takes following just one season — activity has noticeably slowed as the pool of players to pick from dries up.

However, Pullin recently arose as a prospect who fits the billing of talent worth occupying one of those spots. In fact, the well-versed 2024 NBA Draft hopeful is considered the last transfer talent to fit the mold of what the staff yearns for at point guard moving forward.

Golden is pursuing the former Highlander accordingly and will attempt to make Gainesville Pullin's permanent destination.
