Gators Guards Pullin, Clayton Reel in NABC All-District 20 Team SEC Honors

Florida Gators guards Zyon Pullin and Walter Clayton Jr. were named to the NABC All-District 20 Team (SEC) second team on Tuesday.

Florida Gators guards Zyon Pullin and Walter Clayton Jr. continued to reel in accolades following a productive 2023-24 campaign on Tuesday, as they were named to the NABC All-District 20 Team (Southeastern Conference) second team.

Pullin and Clayton add to their previous All-SEC recognition, as well as an All-SEC Tournament team selection for the latter, as the Gators won three straight in Nashville and appeared in the SEC Tournament championship game for the first time since 2014.

The duo is the first to grace the NABC All-District team from the University of Florida since guard Scottie Wilbekin and forward Casey Prather in the 2013-14 season. Bradley Beal and Kenny Boynton (2011-12) were the last backcourt pair to make the list in the same season.

Throughout the year, Pullin has served as a dynamic floor general for Florida, eliciting one of the best offensive products the Gators have produced in over a decade. His prowess as a scorer and facilitator, averaging 15.6 points, 4.9 assists, and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.76 (No. 3 NCAA), has enabled Florida's offense to post 85.1 points per contest en route to a 24-11 record heading into the first round of March Madness.

As a result, his move from UC Riverside to Florida has proved fruitful — for both parties — as he pursues a career in the pros following his fifth and final year of collegiate eligibility, and the Gators return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season.

Clayton, on the other hand, entered the fold after spending two seasons at Iona under Rick Pitino. Operating as a true two-guard with the ability to score at all three levels, the Lake Wales (Fla.) native has notched 17.1 points per game on 42.6% from the field and 36.3% from beyond the arc.

He's elevated the Gators with his shooting prowess, both as a spot-up shooter and creating for himself off the dribble.

The starting guards will serve as key cogs for Florida as it embarks on its quest to make a run in the 2023-24 NCAA Tournament to end head coach Todd Golden's second year in Gainesville on a high note.
