Abrams flipped to Florida from Florida State on July 18 following a near-six-month commitment to the Seminoles. Texas A&M, LSU and Miami were also heavily involved in his recruitment.
Before his pledge to UF, Abrams visited Florida from June 16-18 and was on hand to see the commitments of Amir Jackson and Aaron Chiles. He visited Florida State for a final time a week later before announcing his flip to the Gators.
With the offseason departures of Ricky Pearsall to the NFL and Caleb Douglas to Texas Tech via the NCAA transfer portal, Abrams' signing becomes much more important for Florida to build depth in the receiver room.
A consensus four-star pass-catcher, Abrams ranks as the No. 39 overall receiver and No. 29 overall player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Other 2024 commitments at receiver include composite four-star prospects Izaiah Williams of Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day and Jerrae Hawkins Jr. of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. Both are set to sign later Wednesday afternoon.
