2024 NFL Draft: Three Potential Landing Spots For Former FSU Star Johnny Wilson

Where will the 6-foot-7 wide receiver be drafted?

NFL Draft season is here. Teams have addressed what they were able to or needed to do in free agency and will now look to fill holes using the NFL Draft. Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson will be able to provide teams with a big-bodied wide receiver with a unique skill set for his size.

The 6-foot-6, 231 pound wide receiver spent two seasons in Tallahassee after spending two years with Arizona State. The Florida State product caught 84 passes for 1,514 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while wearing garnet and gold.

Wilson recorded 41 receptions for 617 yards and two touchdowns during the 2023 college football season. While it'd be easy to think Wilson could develop into a solid tight end at the pro level, his athleticism makes him a prime candidate to make big plays with the football within an offense.

Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, The Draft Network listed three ideal landing spots for the former Seminole.

The first team The Draft Network listed was the Jacksonville Jaguars, equipping Trevor Lawrence with another weapon as they continue to build their squad. They signed Gabe Davis this offseason, pairing him with Christian Kirk, but Calvin Ridley leaving in free agency leaves another receiver position open for the Jaguars to fill.

Wilson's big play ability gives the Jaguars a solid pick to be the third receiver to round out the trio for their franchise quarterback.

"The Jaguars haven't done a good enough job surrounding Lawrence with weapons throughout his affordable rookie contract. Look no further than how the Houston Texans are building around C.J. Stroud under similar circumstances," The Draft Network wrote.

Following the Jaguars, the next destination listed was the Atlanta Falcons. They're a young, upcoming team with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins taking over under center next season. The Falcons need "better depth" alongside Drake London, and pairing another young wide receiver alongside him in an offense that also includes Bijan Robinson in the backfield and Kyle Pitts as a vertical threat is electric.

"Imposing, towering prospects appeal to [general manager Terry] Fontenot at receiver. Wilson checks those boxes and he'd be capable of developing into an appropriate WR2 opposite London.

Wilson would be adding to an offense full of youth and talent in Atlanta, making life much easier for Cousins as a cheaper option for the franchise. This would also pose a big opportunity for Wilson to step into a WR2 role.

The last team The Draft Network took a look at is the Baltimore Ravens. Of the three teams listed, this is the best opportunity for the former Florida State wide receiver to compete for a championship early in his career.

The Ravens have a good mold offensively with a versatile, MVP-winning quarterback in Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry in the backfield. The departure of Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency -- as he remains an undrafted free agent -- leaves a vacancy at the wide receiver position.

"Jackson would appreciate Wilson's massive catch radius on the boundary. Wilson's ability to dominate in the red zone would pair nicely with Jackson," The Draft Network wrote.

Having Wilson to throw to in the red zone would give the Ravens' offense more versatility. They've already got Jackson -- more than capable of using his legs -- and Henry, both being forces in the red zone. Adding Wilson as an option would make the Ravens' offense incredible to watch and much more difficult to slow down.
