Activity in the NCAA Transfer Portal is picking up after the college basketball season concluded on Monday night with UConn taking home the national championship. At this point, Florida State has only seen one player enter the portal from a roster that needs to be retooled if head coach Leonard Hamilton is going to get things back on track in Tallahassee.

Last week, redshirt junior guard Caleb Mills announced his decision to search for a new opportunity elsewhere. After averaging 13 points per game in 2022-23, he's already starting to gain interest from other programs around the country.

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Mills has scheduled a visit to Memphis on Thursday and is also receiving interest from Tennessee. Both programs made the NCAA Tournament last month, including the Volunteers who advanced all the way to the Elite Eight prior to being knocked out by Florida Atlantic, which defeated Memphis in the opening round.

Rothstein has also reported previously that Gonzaga, Clemson, North Carolina State, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, and Xavier have displayed an interest in Mills. He's quickly becoming a coveted option in the portal.

This isn't Mills' first rodeo with the transfer portal. He began his college career at Houston before departing from the program and transferring to Florida State in 2021.

The North Carolina native averaged 12.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals in 26.3 minutes per game during his first season with the program. Mills improved his scoring, rebounds, and assists this past year but his shooting percentages diminished as he only connected on 41% of his field goal attempts and 29.4% of his three-pointers.

Mills earned his bachelor's degree last summer and will be immediately eligible at his next stop as a graduate transfer. He scored 20+ points five times in garnet and gold, including a 27-point performance against Louisville in 2022 and Boston College in 2023 that tied his career high.
