Football is making its long-awaited return at all levels.

The NFL preseason is well underway, and the college football season is less than a week from kicking off. In the meantime, high school football started back up earlier this month, and most teams played their first game over the last 48 hours.

That means nearly all of Florida State's commitments are back in action.

There was a lot of discussion surrounding the quarterback position in Tallahassee this offseason. On the recruiting trail, the Seminoles came up short on many of their top options, ultimately turning to three-star signal-caller Logan Flaherty to lead #Tribe27.

Flaherty is putting together a strong start to his senior season.

On Friday night, Flaherty led his squad to a 62-26 victory over Cape Coral High School. What made the win even more impressive was that Flaherty was missing his top two wide receivers, including four-star Elias Pearl.

Flaherty didn't blink, relying on his legs to put on a show. He racked up 242 yards on the ground and 4 touchdowns, providing a massive spark on offense.

That included a 65-yard score in the second quarter and a 37-yard scramble in the final frame to put the finishing touches on an undefeated start.

The performance came a week after Flaherty compiled 5 total touchdowns in Port Charlotte's jamboree.

It's a long season but if Flaherty continues to produce like this, he could be in line for a huge fall.

As a junior, Flaherty guided Port Charlotte to a state semifinal appearance. He completed 178/293 passes for 2,636 yards with 27 touchdowns to 7 interceptions, while rushing for 595 yards and 11 more scores.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback is regarded as the No. 801 overall prospect, the No. 39 QB, and the No. 69 recruit in Florida in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings.
