Florida Gators' Starting OL Comments on FSU At SEC Media Day: "I Don't Like Those Guys At All"

The Seminoles are on plenty of minds at the SEC Media Days in Nashville.

Florida State is expected to be one of the top teams in the country in 2023. That has opposing programs beginning to circle the Seminoles on their respective schedules, especially those that were defeated by them last season.

The annual SEC Media Days are taking place in Nashville this week. FSU has already elicited attention from the team they'll take on in the season opener and the one that they'll conclude it against.

Florida Gators starting offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun highlighted his distaste for the Seminoles on Wednesday while speaking to reporters. He's excited to get another shot at Florida State after coming up short in Tallahassee in 2022.

“Most challenging opponent. I don’t really know who the most challenging opponent would be, to be honest," Eguakun said. "I know everybody works pretty hard but I can tell you who I’m most excited to play is FSU. I don’t like those guys at all so I’m excited to go after them for sure.”

Eguakun has been the Gators' starting center for each of the last two seasons. The 6-foot-3, 302-pound redshirt junior is entering his fifth season in Gainesville.

Florida State took down Florida 45-38 on Black Friday last year. The Seminoles trailed 24-21 at halftime but a 17-0 third quarter helped propel the team to a comeback victory. The win marked FSU's first in the rivalry series against the Gators since 2017.

Second-year head coach Billy Napier will get another shot at Florida State in November when the Seminoles travel to Gainesville. The Gators held FSU out of the postseason during their last visit to town in 2021.

That'll be on Mike Norvell's mind as he continues to push his team to climb in Tallahassee.
