Recently, the online sportsbook FanDuel.com released an early preseason list of which team will be hoisting the National Championship Trophy in January of next year. The 'Noles clocked in at number six with +1800 odds to win in the promised land.
The Georgia Bulldogs came in first on the list at +220, which is no surprise for the reigning national champions, while the LSU Tigers tied the 'Noles for a potential rematch in Houston. Alabama Crimson Tide came in second at +500, and the Clemson Tigers came in at seven with +2000. They were the only other ACC team that made the cut.

The team as a whole will be returning around 90% of its production from last year. Along with Travis and Verse, FSU returns leading receiver Johnny Wilson (43 receptions for 897 yards, five touchdowns), leading rusher Trey Benson (990 yards, nine touchdowns) and running back Lawrance Toafilli (457 yards, five touchdowns) on offense. That cast is accompanied by top transfers and five-star recruits to help continue one of the most explosive offenses in the country in 2022.
On the defense side of the ball, Verse has an entourage of veterans and upcoming freshmen, featuring 2022 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year Patrick Payton and a deep defensive line with guys like DE Fabien Lovett and DT Joshua Farmer. In the backfield that only lost one starter in Jammie Robinson to the NFL Draft, players like defensive backs Shyheim Brown, Azareye'h Thomas, Greedy Vance and Renardo Green will be primed for another year of production.
