Florida State is in the midst of a game of runs in an ACC matchup against Virginia Tech. The Seminoles dominated the first quarter and built a 22-0 advantage before the end of the frame. However, the Hokies responded with a strong effort in the second quarter to trim the deficit to 22-10 going into the half.

Virginia Tech returned the opening kickoff of the third quarter for a touchdown to put pressure on Florida State's offense. Needing an answer to the Hokies' run, quarterback Jordan Travis and his unit took the field.

Travis delivered a pass to wide receiver Johnny Wilson to begin the drive, leading to a quick first down. However, Wilson stayed down on the field following the play and had to be attended to by trainers. He ended up limping to the sidelines and going directly into Florida State's injury tent.

Shortly after he entered the tent, Travis walked in to check on his star wide receiver. After being evaluated by medical personnel, Wilson was escorted back to the locker room with what appeared to be a potential injury to his left leg.

Prior to going down, Wilson was Florida State's leading receiver with four catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns. His pair of receiving touchdowns in the opening quarter were Wilson's first two scores of the 2023 season.

Despite the loss of Wilson, the Seminoles find themselves with a 29-17 advantage early in the third quarter. One play after his injury, Trey Benson scored a season-long 62-yard rushing touchdown as the offense already holds 164 yards on the ground with plenty of time remaining in the contest.

On the season, Wilson leads Florida State in receiving with 20 catches for 357 yards and two touchdowns. Keon Coleman checks in not too far behind with 20 grabs for 278 yards and a team-high six scores.
