Florida State Remains In Top 5 Of Latest AP Top 25 Poll After 6-0 Start

The Seminoles have been ranked in the top 5 for seven consecutive weeks.

The Seminoles continued their best start to a season since 2015 after defeating Syracuse to move to 6-0. That means Florida State has won 12 consecutive games dating back to the middle of last year in a run that includes victories over LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida, and Miami.

On Sunday afternoon, the weekly Associated Press Top 25 Poll was released. Florida State remained at No. 4 in the country after the 41-3 decision over the Orange, marking the seventh straight week that the program has been ranked in the top 5. The team was voted at No. 4 in the Coaches Poll as well. The complete AP Top 25 Poll can be viewed here.

Taking a glance at the remainder of the poll, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State continue to be the only teams ranked higher than the Seminoles. Washington jumped up to No. 5 after a massive win against Oregon. Florida State only received one first-place vote this week.

As of now, Florida State only has one ranked team remaining on its schedule; Duke (16). Miami fell out of the polls after its second straight loss. The Seminoles remain the highest-ranked team in the ACC for the eighth consecutive week to begin the season. North Carolina (10), Louisville (21), and the Blue Devils are the only other programs in the conference that are currently ranked.

The Seminoles are the only team in the state of Florida to remain undefeated and ranked in the polls.

Florida State returns to Doak Campbell Stadium to conclude a three-game homestand against Duke on Saturday, October 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the contest will be televised on ABC.
