Florida State's Spot In Latest AP Top 25 Poll Revealed After Taking Down Miami

The Seminoles have been ranked in the top five for 11 consecutive weeks during the 2023 season.

Florida State went to war for the second straight weekend as the team pulled out a 27-20 victory against the Miami Hurricanes in Tallahassee. It didn't come easy as the Seminoles and Hurricanes battled for control of the state throughout the night.

However, in the end, one team was left standing and that was FSU after the defense held Miami off down the stretch. The unit only allowed two scoring possessions in the second half with one coming due to good field position after an onside kick and the other being a defensive breakdown that resulted in a long touchdown.

On Sunday afternoon, the weekly Associated Press Top 25 Poll was released. Once again, Florida State continued to hold on to the No. 4 spot in the rankings, marking the 11th straight week that that program has been ranked in the top five. The team was also voted at No. 4 in the Coaches Poll. The complete AP Top 25 Poll can be viewed here.

The only teams ranked higher than Florida State continue to be Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. The Seminoles received zero first-place votes this week.

FSU isn't projected to match up with another ranked opponent until the ACC Championship. North Alabama is an FCS team while Florida has racked up two consecutive losses to fall to 5-5. The 'Noles did previously defeated two ranked teams; LSU and Duke. Florida State continues to be the highest-ranked team in the ACC for the 11th consecutive week to begin the 2023 season. Louisville (9) is the only other program in the conference that is currently ranked.

The Seminoles are the only team in the state of Florida to remain undefeated and ranked in the polls. FSU is one of seven FBS programs that have yet to lose a game this year.

Florida State will be back in action for its home finale on Saturday. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be televised on The CW Network.
