As has been told all season, the Florida State Seminoles are gearing up for a huge season, and the program is getting the level of media attention it deserves as Week 1 is just around the corner.

Rece Davis, College Gameday Host, was joined by ESPN's Pete Thamel on the College Gameday Podcast where he was able to unveil his thoughts on the upcoming seasons, including his predictions.

Davis was asked about the strength of the SEC, which led to his predictions about the College Football Playoffs.

“I will answer the question and say the SEC only gets one,” Davis said. “It will be Georgia. And I think the four Playoff teams are going to be Georgia, Michigan, USC and Florida State.”

The question was whether or not the SEC would send two conference teams to the College Football Playoffs. However, Davis' prediction included one SEC team, one Big Ten team, one Pac-12 team, and, of course, Florida State of the ACC.

“I think Florida State is going to come through, and I think they make the Playoff, and I think they knock either LSU or Alabama out of that second spot from the SEC," Davis continued.

Florida State has a golden opportunity to pave its own path to the College Football Playoffs. If they take down LSU, ranked No. 5 in the AP Preseason Rankings and Clemson, ranked No. 9, the team will have two great wins to show for to lobby their case to the playoff committee.

The schedule will be tough for the team, but if the Seminoles make their arrival like the media thinks, those two wins will be key to the team making the playoffs. The rest of the schedule matters as well, of course, but taking down two teams ranked in the top ten in preseason rankings is a shiny case for their resume.
