The NCAA Transfer Portal window won't open for nearly two more months. With that being said, there are already departures across the country for various reasons.

According to a Florida State Spokesperson, redshirt senior wide receiver Winston Wright Jr. is no longer a member of the program. He's been removed from the Seminoles' online roster after not recording a snap during the 39-17 victory against Virginia Tech.

Wright Jr. caught four passes for 36 yards and returned three kickoffs for 74 yards on the season. His appearance against LSU in the season opener marked his debut with Florida State after he was injured in a car accident shortly after transferring into the program from West Virginia.

The Georgia native was listed as a co-starter in the slot alongside redshirt junior Ja'Khi Douglas and true freshman Destyn Hill. Douglas returned to action on Saturday following a preseason injury and ended up garnering 18 snaps. Hill played 23 snaps and recorded one catch for 30 yards.

With Wright Jr. moving on, expect Douglas and Hill to continue to lock down the majority of playing time inside. Despite returning from his leg injury, it never truly seemed like he was fully healthy as he tried to work his way back onto the field. Wright Jr. displayed progress but struggled to make a consistent impact.

Prior to transferring to Florida State, he spent three seasons at West Virginia. Wright Jr. totaled 129 catches for 1,338 yards with seven receiving touchdowns while returning 50 kicks for 1,236 yards and two more scores.

It's possible that Wright Jr. plans to retain his final season of eligibility after playing less than four games. He could enter the portal when it opens on December 4 but would have to acquire a waiver as a two-time transfer and potentially an injury waiver after missing the entirety of the 2022 season.
