WATCH: FSU wide receiver Johnny Wilson shines in second spring scrimmage

In this story:
The Florida State Seminoles are nine practices in this spring, and it is no surprise that standouts from last season are continuing to carve out a path on the depth chart for the 2023 season.
The 'Noles held their second scrimmage last Saturday, allowing new players to stand out while some veterans showcased their skills inside Doak Campbell Stadium.
Wide receiver Johnny Wilson was one of those players making big plays under the lights, which shouldn't startle anyone. He finished No. 1 overall in his position group, amassing 43 receptions for 897 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming a go-to mismatch for opposing defenses.
"Yeah, it's crazy. I just remember when we first got here, or when I first got here; I've always thought the room was super talented but it was just about putting it all together, dudes playing for each other and being selfless. I think last year we kinda made that the standard."

Wilson has had some big moments during spring camp and insists that he wants to progress the underclassman as much as he can during his time in Tallahassee.
"Me being like the vet right now, coming back, I kinda already know the system. I just help out in more ways and try to get the new guys in the system faster. They're catching on quick, though. A lot of the dudes in the room are hungry... That's the best part." Wilson said early in the spring.
With numerous high-priority recruits cycling in and out of Tallahassee, watching players like Wilson, running back Trey Benson and quarterback Jordan Travis continue to make explosive plays will only benefit the recruiting efforts of Mike Norvell and Co. as the Seminoles prepare for another breakout year.
