Those familiar with his recruiting process may remember that Hill used to go by Destyn Pazon. That's the name that he's listed under in the directory. He's a member of Florida State's College of Business with his Major set as NFA-Accounting.

The Louisiana native was the crown jewel of Florida State's 2021 recruiting class. At the time, he was considered a top-150 prospect and one of the top wide receivers in the country. Hill won multiple state championships while starring at Edna Karr High School. He caught 33 passes for 806 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior year, averaging 24.4 yards per catch.

Hill did not enroll at Florida State with his recruiting class during the summer of 2021. The program previously issued a statement to announce that his enrollment was delayed due to a personal matter. There was hope at the time that he would join the Seminoles in the future.

“Destyn Hill’s enrollment is delayed due to a personal matter. With respect to his family’s privacy, we are looking forward to him joining our program in the future.”

The future appears to be now - over two years after he originally signed his Letter of Intent. At the same time, nothing is certain until Hill (or Pazon) finally steps on Florida State's campus and makes an appearance at the Moore Athletic Center.

Hill is expected to retain full college eligibility as he begins his career with the Seminoles. It'll be interesting to see what kind of form he's in after the gap between his high school playing days and arriving at Florida State. If he can work his way back into playing shape, Hill could be an intriguing option among the wide receivers.

During his prep career, he was a legitimate deep threat with the ability to go up and make contested catches. Hill's former high school teammate, cornerback Greedy Vance, has been hinting at this news in recent months.
