Former Florida State star wide receiver Travis Rudolph has been through tumultuous times over the past few years. Rudolph went from being the top receiver at FSU from 2015-2016 to multiple stints in the NFL with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, heading on to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before disaster struck.

In 2021, Rudolph was arrested for first-degree murder after an altercation with a group of people, which reportedly left Rudolph in a situation where he had to defend his life. A Florida court would eventually drop the charges after a two-year legal proceeding and trial that found Rudolph to be innocent.

It appears now that the former standout who had a career 2,311 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns during his time at Florida State will be back playing football professionally with the Orlando Guardians in the XFL. Rudolph is one of three FSU wide receivers with multiple 200+ yard games at the collegiate level.

In 2016, Rudolph made headlines when the Seminoles took a visit to a local middle school. During the visit, he sat down to eat with Bo Paske, an autistic student eating alone. It was a gesture that drew national attention.

During his time in the NFL, he recorded eight catches for 101 yards averaging 12.6 yards per catch.

His next step forward should be a positive one as he enters a new phase of his professional career. He will join former FSU quarterback Deondre Francois, former Seminole linebackers Terrance Smith and DeCalon Brooks, along with the current head coach and former FSU defensive back, Terrell Buckley, who are all part of the Guardians squad.
