Four-Star 2026 QB, Legacy Recruit Romin Seymour Visits FSU for Rivalry Win Over Miami

The Florida State legacy was in the stands as the Seminoles and Hurricanes faced off over the weekend.

The Florida State Seminoles are hard at work, on and off the field. In addition to defeating what is arguably the program's biggest rival - the Miami Hurricanes - the Seminoles hosted over 100 recruits, and while the 2024 recruiting cycle is coming to a close, head coach Mike Norvell is beginning to build his 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes.

One of the younger recruits in attendance was four-star quarterback Romin Seymour out of Manvel High School in Manvel, Texas. In addition to being a blue-chip prospect, Seymour's father, Roland, was a defensive end for the Seminoles from 1996-2000 and was a member of the 1999 national championship team.

Despite his father being part of one of the greatest college football teams of all time, Seymour had never attended an FSU game prior to Saturday and was amazed at the environment Doak Campbell Stadium had to offer.

"It was fun, nice environment and I finally got to see a game for the first time. Seymour said NoleGameday's Robert Malcom. "I thought I would have been to some more but yeah this was my first time, I'm glad it was in Doak and against Miami so you knew it was going to be a good one, Miami always plays up vs. Florida State."

While Seymour had a lot to take in as a fan and a recruit, he paid close attention to what quarterback Jordan Travis and the offense were doing throughout the game. He even offered some insight as to what he would have liked to see done differently.

"I thought they did good, I thought Jordan could have ran a little bit more but outside of that they got the W, they did what they had to do to get the W so that's all that matters," Seymour said.

Prior to kickoff, Seymour was able to meet some FSU greats and added that the brotherhood the Seminoles have to offer is something he sees from his father and his former teammates.

"I was with Bryant McFadden and Corey Simon. Bryant and my dad actually talk all the time so he's basically like one of my uncles, and meeting Corey, that was kind of fun, it was my first time ever meeting him," Seymour said.

Following his visit to Tallahassee, Seymour noted that his experience over the weekend was certainly impactful towards his recruitment and that the direction the program is headed is something all recruits should pay close attention to.

"It's at the top of my list for sure," Seymour said. "Just the ties that I have and the relationships that I'm building, the environment the campus has, and the trend that Florida State is going, I really like it."

The 6-foot-4 175-pound quarterback added that he is still keeping his options open, and that he is paying close attention to the Florida Gators and UTSA as he likes where both programs are headed.

Seymour is ranked as the No. 94 overall prospect, the No. 9 QB, and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Texas in the 2026 class according to 247Sports.
