Georgia RB Kendall Milton Says He Will Play in Orange Bowl

Georgia RB Kendall Milton indicated that he will play in Georgia's bowl game following the team's loss in the SEC Championship Game.

With Georgia set to play No. 5 Florida State in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30, it remains to be seen what Georgia's available roster will look like when the Bulldogs square off against the Seminoles in Miami. With Georgia not playing in the College Football Playoff for the first time since the 2020 season, they will have to contend with the growing trend of draft-eligible players opting to sit out non-playoff bowl games. However, when asked on Saturday night in the aftermath of Georgia's loss to 27-24 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, senior running back Kendall Milton told reporters that he would play in Georgia's bowl game.

“There’s no way I would abandon my brothers,” Milton said. “I’ve been through hell and back with these boys, so there’s no way that I won’t take every opportunity that I can to be able to play with them.”

The Fresno, California native battled injuries through much of the year, but emerged as a force for the Georgia offense over the last month of the season, rushing for 391 yards and 7 touchdowns over the course of the team's final 4 games of the season. His 156 yards on 18 carries against in-state rival Georgia Tech represented a career high for the former 4-star prospect. Entering the Orange Bowl, Milton has rushed for 686 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns.
