Georgia Wide Receiver Ladd McConkey Discusses Key to Development at Georgia
Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey has an excellent chance to break a more than decade-long streak at the University of Georgia, as he is on the fringe of a first-round selection in the NFL Draft.
But McConkey was not always the high-profile receiver we see today. In fact, the former 3-star was once a scout team player at the University of Georgia. McConkey said he believes that his time on the scout team and his overall work ethic were major contributors to his growth and development as a player.
"Just put my head down and grind really. That first year I was on the scout team and didn't play, and I think that made me a better player for sure. I got so many good reps against so many good players. So it was just those reps, just working and keeping my head down. And when I got an opportunity, I think I made the most of it."

Over the years the Georgia Bulldogs have become notorious for their grueling practice schedule and extremely competitive scout team as numerous players have stated that playing at Georgia is oftentimes harder than playing in the NFL.
Ladd McConkey's skillset and comments about his progression as an athlete are a testament to Georgia's ability to develop players into highly talented football juggernauts.
