Amassing 145 wins during his tenure at Georgia, Richt is the second-winningst coach in program history, trailing only Vince Dooley. Additionally, with a record of 145-51 as Georgia's head coach, Richt left Athens with the highest win percentage of any Georgia coach who coached for more than 29 games. Edwards starred for Georgia at receiver for four seasons from 1999-2002. He exploded onto the scene as a freshman in 1999 with a 53 catch, 772 yard, 9 touchdown season and never slowed down throughout his Bulldog career. Edwards still holds Georgia records for career receiving yards (3,093), career receiving touchdowns (30), and receiving yards in a single season (1,004). To date, Edwards is the only player in Georgia football history to go over the 1,000 yard receiving mark in a single season, which he did during his senior season in 2002.
Richt's induction into the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame comes as the latest honor for a coach who has already previously been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Edwards, who became a 5-time CFL All-Star, was inducted into the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 2017.
It was also announced that Joe Haden, a Florida cornerback from 2007-2009, and Earnest Graham, a Florida running back from 1998-2002 will be Florida's 2023 inductees into the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame. The induction will take place at the 2023 Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon on Oct. 27.
