South Carolina Expected to Hire Former Georgia Offensive Coordinator
The South Carolina Gamecocks haven't had much good news surrounding their program since the start of their offseason. Multiple players hitting the transfer portal or declaring for the NFL Draft, they have some good news coming their way as they are expected to hire a former Georgia offensive coordinator.
James Coley is expected to join Shane Beamer in Columbia, S.C. after his tenure at Texas A&M, according to Matt Zenitz. Coley was on Georgia's staff for the start of Kirby Smart's tenure at Georgia, bit didn't get the nod to be a co-offensive coordinator in 2018, but earned the sole coordinator position in 2019.
He had tenures as offensive coordinator not only Georgia, but with the Miami Hurricanes, and the Florida State Seminoles. The past three season Coley has been a tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator for the Texas A&M Aggies since joining Jimbo Fisher in College Station.
Coley will now join Beamer at South Carolina as an offensive assistant coach, and will have a shot at facing his former team and recruit against them.
