Why Georgia's Offense Should Improve Under Mike Bobo in 2024

When offensive coordinator Todd Monken announced his departure from the Georgia Bulldogs to the NFL, Kirby Smart and staff wasted little to no time in announcing the elite offensive coordinator's replacement.

Mike Bobo, a former Georgia quarterback and once an offensive coordinator for the Dawgs under Mark Richt was quickly announced as the Bulldogs' next offensive coordinator. Much to the dismay of a handful of Georgia fans.

But despite the criticism from some, Mike Bobo's first season as the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator was, for the most part, a major success. During the 2023 season, Georgia averaged an impressive 40.14 points per game and reached more than 45 points on six separate occasions. But the Bulldogs offense could be in for an even bigger year come the 2024 season. Here are a few reasons as to why Mike Bobo's offense could have even more success in 2024.

Carson Beck Returns

Regardless of the outcome of the 2023 season, it's safe to say that Carson Beck's first year as the Bulldogs quarterback was a massive success. The Jacksonville native threw for just shy of 4,000 yards, completed a record-breaking 72.4% of his passes, and was consistently in the thick of the Heisman race leading up to the SEC Championship. Beck's returning experience and skill for the 2024 season will almost undoubtedly help the Bulldogs' offense improve on last year's successes.

Bulldogs' Offensive Roster has Plenty of Depth

Throughout the 2023 season, Georgia's offensive dealt with a plethora of injuries that stymied the Bulldogs' potential throughout the majority of the year. While injuries are almost always a factor in a team's season. The Bulldogs returning talent, combined with the new additions from this year's signing class, Georgia's offensive depth chart is well equipped to have a deep talent pool for the 2024 season.

Bobo Likely Has Much Better Grasp on Offensive System

Todd Monken's unique play-call style was a massive shakeup for the Bulldogs' offense, which understandably led to some growing pains when Mike Bobo took over during the 2023 season. However, with an extra year of experience under his belt, combined with time to add wrinkles of his own to the offense. Bobo's execution of the Bulldogs' offense is likely to greatly increase as the 2024 season arrives.

For all the victories that came with the 2023 season, Bobo and the Bulldogs will look to improve their offensive attack and make Georgia's offensive attack even more vaunting during the 2024 season.
