REPORT: Georgia Hires Personnel Recruiter from Louisiana Tech

Georgia football has hired Anthony Mauro from Louisiana Tech to be a personnel recruiter for the Bulldogs.

Georgia’s football program is in the midst of spring practice but they are still making additions to it’s coaching staff. It was announced today that the Bulldogs are hiring Anthony Mauro as a personnel recruiter, per Matt Zenitz from 247 sports.

Louisiana Tech hired Mauro in 2022 to be the program’s Director of Player Personnel. Prior to that he spent five seasons at Fresno State where he served as the director of scouting. During his time there, helped Fresno State earn the highest rated recruiting class in the Mountain West conference and the second-best class amongst all Group of Five programs. Mauro also spent time at McNeese State where he coached lineabckers.

The Bulldogs have had to add quite a few new names to their staff this offseason. Most notably they hired Donte Williams from USC to coach defensive backs, Travaris Robinson to be co-defensive coordinator and coach safeties, James Coley to be the wide receiver coach and Josh Crawford to fill in as the team’s running backs coach.

With spring practice on the verge of coming to an end for Georgia, it can be expected that head coach Kirby Smart is close to rounding out his staff for the rest of the year or may already be done on that front. The next step as far as new additions go will be what Georgia decides to do whent the spring transfer portal window opens in the coming weeks.
