2024 Wide Receiver Ryan Ringo Talks Georgia and Relationship with Coach McClendon

Now that Georgia has landed Dylan Raiola, the nation’s number-one quarterback. How will that affect the big names at the receiver position for coach Bryan McClendon?

The dominos may start falling for the University of Georgia and its 2024 recruiting class after landing quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's top-ranked player. Another highly praised player, Ryan Wingo, a five-star wide receiver from Saint Louis, Missouri could very well be one of those pieces that everyone should keep a close eye on.

During Wingo’s junior season, he caught 41 passes going for 785 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also contributed on special teams, where he averaged 30.5 yards per punt return; two of which were returned for touchdowns. Wingo also runs track where he placed third in the Missouri 5A State championship, in the 100 meters with a time of 10.55 and the 200 meters with a time of 21.31. Wingo is a “do it all” wideout and could be a massive win if Georgia finds a way to get him to Athens.

Dawgs Daily recently sat down with Wingo and talked about where he currently sits in his recruiting process. While he doesn’t have a time frame for his commitment, he has told us that he currently has 4 official visits scheduled: Georgia, Michigan, Texas, and his home school Missouri.

While Wingo has not narrowed his top schools down yet, he stated he hears from every school on a consistent basis and is enjoying the process. Dawgs Daily also asked him what he personally believes he can add and contribute to the school he commits to, which he replied, “a competitor and deep threat.” He also believes that everything needs to improve in his game saying, “You can never say you’re too good at anything.” Whatever school lands the services of Wingo will be getting a good one.

With all of the relationships Wingo has formed throughout his recruiting process, receivers coach Bryan McClendon has already done a fantastic job of establishing great relationships, especially in Wingo's opinion. Wingo says what he likes most about coach McClendon is, “He keeps it real with me.” Wingo also stated McClendon and Georgia are “both straightforward with me and aren’t trying to sell me anything.”

If Georgia can earn the commitment of Wingo, he would be the first 5-star receiver to commit to the University of Georgia since George Pickens in the 2019 recruiting class. With a future commitment date unknown, all eyes should be on one of the nation's most elite receivers, Ryan Wingo.
